Recently, the 2021 top 100 auto parts suppliers list was released. According to the list released by American Automotive News, Bosch has won the title for eight consecutive years, and electric equipment has jumped to the second place, while Magna still ranks third. There are 6 Chinese enterprises on the list, including Yanfeng, Beijing Hainachuan, CITIC daika, Dechang electric, Wuling industry and minshi group, of which Yanfeng ranks 16th. Looking at the top ranked enterprises, we can see that high-tech such as electrification, intelligence and networking in the automotive industry account for an increasing proportion in the supplier business, which also helps its performance growth.

Auto news has published the list of top 100 auto parts suppliers since 2005, ranking according to the operating income (Sales) of the supporting market business in the auto industry in the previous year provided by the suppliers. Therefore, the evaluation standard of the 2021 top 100 list is the performance of each supplier in 2020. Of the 100 enterprises on the list, 84 achieved year-on-year growth in supporting revenue in 2020, and 16 fell to varying degrees.

According to statistics, the total revenue of automobile supporting facilities of former suppliers in 2020 reached US $315.44 billion, an increase of about 8% over 2019. Although the increase is not particularly large, it is also considerable. Among them, Bosch and Denso are the only suppliers with a revenue of more than $40billion.

Bosch group of Germany is firmly on the throne with the achievement of USD 47.5 billion. In fact, among the 14 released lists, Bosch has always been the list in other years, except that it was surpassed by Denso in 2017, and it is a well deserved parts supplier. Bosch established the artificial intelligence center last year, which is dedicated to the research of artificial intelligence technology, and worked with Daimler to develop software and algorithms for the auto drive system. The goal is to launch L4 and L5 level full auto drive system suitable for urban roads in 2020.

At the same time, Bosch integrated its traditional power department and sold its SG holding company, which is mainly engaged in starter and generator business, to Chinese enterprise zhengmeiji. Bosch has also made great progress in the field of electrification. The 48V light hybrid system developed by Bosch can be quickly integrated into new models. "Bosch is accelerating the development of electric transport. In the past year, we have received a considerable number of orders, some of which have even reached billions of euros." Said Volkmar dunnar, chairman of the board of directors of Bosch group. For the electric vehicle market in China, Bosch and Weichai Power are cooperating in a pilot project to jointly develop truck fuel cells. At the IOT conference in February this year, Bosch announced the establishment of a new Internet mobile service department, focusing on shared travel and intelligent Internet services.

Japan Denso is the second enterprise with supporting revenue of more than US $40billion, reaching US $40.782 billion. Under the background that electrification has become an inevitable trend in the automotive industry, last September, Toyota, Mazda and Denso signed an agreement on the cooperative research and development of technologies related to electric vehicles, and decided to establish a new company for this purpose. The new company is mainly engaged in the research and development of technologies related to the basic structure of electric vehicles that can cover all levels and models. At the beginning of June this year, Denso and Toyota decided to integrate the business of electric vehicle parts. From 2022, Denso will be responsible for the mass production of electrified parts of all Toyota vehicles. It is planned to occupy 30% of the market share in the field of electric systems such as transformers and engines by 2025.

Magna ranked third. As the "OEM emperor" in the automotive industry, Magna has just joined hands with BAIC new energy. The two sides plan to establish two joint ventures: engineering development joint venture and manufacturing joint venture to provide the development and manufacturing of intelligent pure electric vehicles for the Chinese market.
